Disney's Beauty and the Beast Holiday Special
Published in Paperback by Acclaim Books (December, 1997)
Authors: Clay Griffith, Susan Griffith, and Evan Skolnick
Average review score:

Good Motivation for Girls Learning to Read
My 8 year old daughter, who is usually not very motivated to read in English (though it is her first language), found the comic book form quite attractive. The story is quite in line with the Beauty and the Beast films and has solid moral values.

The dialogue is simple, and the pictures are very interesting. It is a great way to motivate girls (and possibly boys) who are moving past the beginning reading level, but not yet ready for chapter books

feet of clay
i knew the author and also knew many of the people
and places mentioned in the book i found parts of
the book to be interesting but other parts were

it was interesting to read about the rise and fall
of someone who i knew and have not seen in many
years.

Hipaa Compliance Handbook: Final Rule on Standards for Privacy
Published in Paperback by Aspen Publishers, Inc. (July, 2001)
Authors: Clay Countryman, Heather C. Jahnke, and Elizabeth H. Mohre
Average review score:

Great HIPAA reference
This book, along with its companion title from the Aspen Health Law and Compliance Electronic Transactions & Privacy Standards (ISBN: 0834220342) are excellent references and quite suitable for management and technologists who have a good handle on HIPAA and are ready to implement the details. As its name implies, the Final Rule on Standards for Privacy provides a definitive look at the privacy requirements, including a section-by section summary of the rule provisions.

HIPAA is divided into separate areas for privacy and security. The privacy rule has been finalized, but the security rule is still awaiting finalization. The security rule is expected to be finalized imminently, and the Electronic Transactions & Privacy Standards guide is a good reference to use until then. Although it is similar in content to the 2002 HIPAA Desk Reference, it has a more legal feel to it.

How to Spot Butterflies
Published in Paperback by Mariner Books (15 January, 1999)
Authors: Clay Sutton and Patricia Taylor Sutton
Average review score:

An excellent primer for prospective butterfliers!
Coming into the world of butterflies with no background whatsoever, I was thoroughly impressed with the Suttons ability to convey their knowledge and experience in a way that I could comprehend and apply in real life. This is a must read for those who are just getting started in butterfly watching! The photographs are excellent and the price is right!

This book is the grand daddy of the clinical vignettes series. Try to grab a copy for it's cases. Useful for both USMLE Steps 2 & 3. You need to commit time to finish the book.

Lee Bailey's Long Weekends
Published in Hardcover by Gramercy (April, 1900)
Authors: Lee Bailey and Langdon Clay
Average review score:

An entertainer's delight....
While Bailey may not be for everyone, his books read almost like stories -- with each menu, one can nearly envision the entire party: guests, setting, etc. His menus are practical, one doesn't have to fuss with a million and one ingredients or otherwise complex receipes. And the food is tasty! If you entertain....and are constantly combing your cookbooks for inspiration, put Bailey on top of your list.

The Life and Works of Frank Lloyd Wright
Published in Hardcover by Courage Books (September, 1998)
Authors: Maria Costantino and Simon Clay
Average review score:

Uneven Text but some Great Pictures
This book is a good read and includes some wonderful, large pictures. There are many facts about the various houses, etc. that are contained in this book that I haven't found in other books on Frank Lloyd Wright's works.

However, the text often doesn't relate to the pictures on the pages, which makes it 'uncomfortable' and awkward to read and refer to the pictures at the same time.

Still, I'm happy to have this book in my library... and it's a good price as far as these sorts of books go :)

Little Eight John
Published in Hardcover by Lodestar Books (September, 1992)
Authors: Jan Wahl and Wil Clay
Average review score:

Little Eight John learned a good lesson.
I picked Little Eight John out at the library because my teacher read it to me at school. My mother read it to me one time. I liked the story because the boy was bad. When his mother told him not to kick the pond frog, he still kicked it. His mother said, "If you sit on a chair backwards they'd get bad luck." He still sat on the chair backwards, and they got bad luck. He had a dream about a monster that came out of the teapot. The part I liked the best was when he told his mother that he would repect and listen to her. Zakiya Gittens Age 6

Madderlake's Trade Secrets: Finding and Arranging Flowers Naturally
Published in Hardcover by Clarkson N. Potter (February, 1994)
Authors: Tom Pritchard, Billy Jarecki, Pure Madderlake (Firm), Pure Madderlake, and Langdon Clay
Average review score:

A book for lorists
This is a book dedicated to the flower business. The authordetails his own experiences, observations and personal view about howto buy and sell flowers. The basic idea is to use the best and unsual flowers to create occasional arrangements.

The book presents some chapters about natural flower arrangemnts. It is presented the Madderlake style, maybe a mix of English and French style.. It is not a book for beginners. The book is quite philosophical and should be read with attention.

If you love flower arrangements, I recommend:Ikebana Expressions by Akane Teshigahara.
